Courtyard & Cobblestones 2018

Wilmington, N.C. has been put on the map due to our beloved city throwing one of the biggest wedding/bridal shows on the east coast! Bride's, groom's, and wedding party affiliates alike are treated to a seven stop trolly tour, around the downtown area to get a one-stop-shop view at the wedding venues, showcasing all local creatives. From photographers, cake designers, wedding planners, entertainment and floral designers all collaborate together a space and make it their own wedding inspiration come true. Many times brides-to-be can meet face to face with vendors that would otherwise be out of state planning, and over the phone consultations, which can make all the difference in the world!
128 South is in the heart of downtown Wilmington with views of the river and has charming wooden and brick details all throughout. Our wonderful wedding planner Charyl, owner of Social Butterfly Events, shares her sophisticated take on "nautical" with a vision for transforming the space using white/gray wash wooden food walls, oversized sweetheart table, blue sea-glass vases, a wall of compasses for guest favors, high top bar tables and a dance floor with eight mini chandeliers. To compliment the seaside styling of blue silk table cloths and fabric draping from the ceilings Eco Chic Blossoms designed the whole venue with greenery and all white flowers.
As you walk in the door to 128 South the showstopper staircase installation dripped down to the floor as if it were growing out of the railing. Double white amaryllis anchored the center where tulips, snapdragons, lisianthus, and stock exploded out from. Smilax trailing almost all the way up to the second floor guided event goers upstairs to the serpentine guest table, where sea blue vases curled around the candles and white parrot tulips, astilbe and double lisianthus blooms, bubble over. The main focal point of the downstairs is the ceiling to floor bay window where the sweetheart table perfectly nestled in between two all white tulip arrangements on glass trumpet stands. The fabric draped from the ceiling has the illusion of floral swags tying it up at the center of the columns, giving the pathway to the outside a whimsical feel. Once guests make their way to the dance floor they are met by an extraordinary stage front, bursting of flowers in white wooden boxes end to end.
The main inspiration for the whole design is something small and unique, that set the tone of less is more, all white sophisticated chic feel. I'll give you a hint, it's a flower, in a class of its own. Consider yourself a flower connoisseur if you already know that our bride held a bouquet worthy of royalty. If not, we would like to introduce you to Lily of the Valley, a first for Courtyard & Cobblestones! We had to pull out all the stops to showcase this rare and beautiful flower, huge shoutout to Eric Boneske for capturing the day perfectly. Below are all of the local vendors that came together to make this year the best one yet!
